Ripple secures full EU money license in Luxembourg

Ripple has officially obtained full authorization as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) from Luxembourg’s financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).

The approval marks a major regulatory milestone for the blockchain payments company as it deepens its presence across the European Union.

The company had previously received in-principle approval and has now satisfied all compliance requirements set by Luxembourg’s watchdog. With the full EMI license in place, Ripple can expand regulated payment services throughout the EU under a recognized legal framework.

Luxembourg’s reputation as a leading European financial center makes the authorization particularly significant.

By securing regulatory approval in the country, Ripple strengthens its ability to offer compliant cross-border payment solutions to banks, fintech firms, and enterprise clients across the region.

This new approval adds to Ripple’s growing list of regulatory successes. Just last month, the company also received an EMI license and crypto registration from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

These approvals show that Ripple is focused on working legally and building a strong presence in major financial markets.

Ripple now holds more than 75 licenses around the world. This makes the company one of the most regulated firms in the crypto and digital payments industry.

Ripple believes following rules and meeting legal standards will help it gain long-term trust from banks, businesses, and government regulators.

Cassie Craddock Ripple’s Managing Director for the UK and Europe said this license is an important step for the company’s growth in the region.

She explained that Europe is a very important market for Ripple and this approval will help the company provide legal and secure blockchain payment solutions to more customers.

She also said the new license will allow Ripple to better support European businesses as they upgrade their financial systems and move toward faster and more digital payment methods.
